Don't sell yourself short.

We live in a world that demands, above all things, conformity-at least in most cases. It pains me to say this, but this statement also rings true in therapy, at least from an industry point of view. As I continue to trudge the every expanding, torturous field of thorns that is the licensing exam, I am continually seeing that in order to be effective (again by industry standards) I have to conform. I have to check off box a,b,c, and so on in order to have value.
I hate being boxed in. To me, being boxed in is not only crushing, it is soul sucking.
Perhaps you find yourself in a similar position. Maybe you've been trying had to raise your own flag; trying to hold your head high with the mark and value that is you only to be hit again and again and again, with the hammer that rings not with a thud, but with the word, Conform.
Don't.
Do what you must while you must but do not sell yourself short, do not dampen your spark for the darkness of the world.
If you have a dream, if you have a calling, hold your head high and answer it.
